The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) was established in 1998. Though the country needs professionally trained court managers, there is no management institution in our country which offers a specialized M.B.A. (Court Management). So, they have taken this responsibility to integrate management with law and produce highly competent court managers. And they aim to contribute managers who are well equipped with knowledge and skills for the business world, to set the highest benchmarks in the area of management and law, and to nurture global managers who would prove to be a right fit in a fast changing business environment, characterized by uncertainty, complexity and speed of socioeconomic, technological and political changes.

Courses Offered in CMS

The university, after achieving the highest position in the field of legal education, has taken an initiative to launch few programs in the field of management and finance. This university has offered earlier two years full time management programs in Masters in Business Laws & Administration and Masters Degree in Financial Services and Capital Markets. Based on the recommendations of the Expert Review Committee they have developed  these major and  minor specializations.

These programs are characterized by cutting edge course structures, innovative pedagogy, live projects, intensive lab works and internship programs. These M.B.A. programs are integration of management and law . Courts in India have started appointing M.B.A. graduates to manage the courts and this university would now provide employable graduates for the judiciary who would understand both law and management and hence would be the best fit for the job of court managers.


Eligibility:


Eligibility for Indian Nationals:

  • Graduates of any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute/university. 
  • Below 30 years of age (for general category) and 32 years f(or SC/ST/People with Disability)


Eligibility for Foreign Nationals:


  • Graduates of any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Below 40 years of age.

Admissions:

The Centre for Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, invites applications for admissions in to  Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Law programme, commencing in 2014-15.

Applicants have to send filled in application form along with following mentioning ‘M.B.A. Application Form 2014-16’ on the top of the envelope to below mentioned address.

  • DD of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 750 for S.C/ S.T/ PWD) which is drawn in favour of  " The Registrar, Nalsar M.B.A A/c" payable at Hyderabad.
  • One page Statement of Purpose (S.O.P.) including personal career goals not exceeding 500 words as to why you want to join this course.
  • Attested copy of the marks statement of 10th Standard.
  • Attested Copy of the statement of marks of the qualifying examination and the Degree Certificate. 
  • In case of grades, conversion of grades to percentage issued by the University / College.
  • Score Card of CAT 2013/ GMAT (appeared not before 1st July 2011) / GRE (appeared not before 1st July 2011) and Copy of CAT 2013 Admit Card.( In case candidate not appeared for these exams, they need not to submit these)
  • Caste Certificate / Disability Certificate wherever applicable.
  • Copy of passport (for Foreign Nationals)

Selection Process:

Selection will be done based on the N-MET 2014/ CAT – 2013/G MAT/ GRE scores, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. In case candidate not appeared for CAT 2013/GMAT/GRE, they can appear for  N-MET 2014 Test which is conducted by Nalsar University. Foreign Nationals need not take the Admission Test and selection will be  based on the performance at Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Test Details:
N-MET 2014 is similar to CAT and consists of 50 Questions each from Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability.
